Obama: Breaking Promises of Transparency

He promised five days of transparency, and right now it’s looking like he’s giving this bill four(ish) days in the sunlight. Congress made a similar promise of 48 hours and then voted on the stimulus about 12 hours after it was released. Transparent?:

  1. hi justen, my name is gusteph (gus for short if you feel so inclined). interesting article here i was reading posted by you. first of all let me just say thank you for doing this. the world needs more people like you with opinions on matter such as government and the like, business and sarah palin.

now for why i am writing this here to you today. well first off i think obama is good for this country, we need more people like obama, he is lots like you in his having opinions on matters (government and the like business and sarah palin) but just different. can he not be respected by you for that? obama is good person with good heart who wants to help the needy with government, unlike bush and republican businessman who want to horde the muulah to themselves. also he wants to get rid of pork but may not always be successful, i mean that will happen, people are not always able to do what they want, just give it time. i myself don’t eat pork so have no opinion either way, sir.

finally i must point out majorly that you contention over the word transparency, i am sure absolutely that mr. obama was using transparency as metaphor. a bill is usually contained on a piece of paper, which can’t really be transparent. he was using it as a clever speech phrase. now do you understand?

thank you for reading i look foreworde to your timely response yours in brotherhood and piece gusteph.

ps. i like your haircut i think of getting mine buzz but wonder what the ladies think if i do.

  2. I don’t understand why you are arguing over semantics when our nation is in such a state of economic crisis. I’m an Obama supporter, but I don’t have some false hope that every campaign promise he made will be fulfilled. I love him, the country loves him, but he’s still a politician. Not everything you say while you’re running for office can be held against you for the rest of your career, can it?

Nevertheless, this seems to be a typical conservative trick: shift the focus from a bill that is going to fix our current economic state to some minor detail. Obama has been in office for a month. The last administration obviously did little to help stave off this recession. Let the president at least have a chance before you start your criticism and usual Republican bullshit tactics.

  3. shift the focus? did you even read the rest of the site? justin has been obsessing over the content of this pork-filled economy-killer for the last week!

  4. No, to be honest, I really don’t read the site.
