Vice President Joe Biden is going to be in charge of overseeing the application of stimulus funds, what could possibly go wrong? Well, he could whitewash mistakes made while spending taxpayer dollars, put out whatever spin the administration wants on the package, and God forbid this new job force him to interact with anyone disabled in any way. The President’s decision:

President Obama has turned to his own vice president to oversee implementation of the $787 billion economic stimulus package, part of which will be available this week for state Medicaid programs.

Obama announced his decision before the National Governors Association in Washington on Monday, saying Vice President Joe Biden will help ensure the distribution of the money is not just swift, “but also efficient and effective.”

Biden’s record in the Senate screams a lot of things, but efficient and effective aren’t quite the words that come to mind when I analyze his past agenda. Why not appoint a member of the opposition to oversee the funds to ensure the highest scrutiny? Senator Judd Gregg showed willingness to work with the administration, he just didn’t want to be a lap dog. I’m sure he could handle this. At the very minimum President Obama could’ve put one of the GOP turncoats in charge of it in the name of bipartisanship. Instead, the White House controls the spin…
