The Palin Family: Dynamic
Since the Palin pick went public, the world learned more than they expected to about Sarah Palin and her family. Sarah was a PTA member, a “hockey mom”, a small-town Mayor, then the Governor of one of the most interesting and unique states in the Union. This sounds pretty basic, but the Palin family is hardly quintessential. Spurred by ridiculous rumors on liberal trash sites and idiotic forums, the Palin family fended off rumors that Palin’s fifth child was actually her daughter’s. Via Hot Air, plenty of photo evidence exists like the picture below to refute that ridiculous theory:
So the conspiracy theory was debunked, but the baby story with Bristol Palin didn’t quite end there. The world would soon find out that the nutcases on the liberal smear sites were on to something, but completely by accident. Bristol Palin is pregnant, and she’s keeping the child. The will for her to keep the child and for her family to support her should be praised, not derided. The media should be derided for treatment of this issue, however.
Meanwhile, since we’re talking about dynamic, how about her son and his service to this country? A lot has been said about Sarah’s experience with the military but she has visited the troops (her troops in some cases, she is the Commander in Chief of the Alaskan National Guard) and now she’s faced with another parental struggle, a son going to war. Not only does Governor Palin have more executive experience than the entire Obama/Biden ticket, she’s dealing with the same issue Biden is and hundreds of thousands of American families are. We’ve heard idiocy for years now about “the Bush twins” not serving. You can’t use that attack line against a war hero and his running-mate who has a son going off to America’s battlefields.
So, they’re not perfect, but they’re a dynamic American family that many other American families can relate to. A powerful woman in the workforce, a son in the military, a pregnant teenage daughter, a son with Downs’ Syndrome. She understands the struggles. She understands the courage necessary to lead. She is ready to lead.

Come on, imagine if in the mid-90s, a teenage Chelsea Clinton got preggers. The right-wingers would have had a field day with it. I realize that ‘What If’ games really have no function in laying out any sort of truth, but it would have to be a really ignorant person who would claim that if the shoe was on the other foot (of the baby in another womb) the applauding would be this loud.
Its amazing that conservatives aren’t judging this girl like they do inner city black girls who have kids, or aren’t laying the blame for this at the feet of poor parenting or ‘the liberal culture’. Or the lack of schools teaching a stern abstinence sexual education curriculum.
Nope, she’s keeping the kid and getting married at age 17. Its a sick culture, and a sick subculture of ‘conservatism’ that applauds a child having a child.
Luckily, the girl’s life isn’t over, and even if her mom doesn’t become the VP, they’ll have millions with the book deal and the seat on the corporate board and/or the lobbying career. She’ll have a chance at a great life, regardless of having a child at this age, only due to how well off her parents are (and will be).
Of course, the 17 year old whose mom works at Wal-Mart and whose dad is a truck driver, that’s a different story—but what the hell, let’s encourage her to keep her mistakes too!

I mean, I realize you probably don’t think much of Amy Goodman, and that’s cool, but the video of her being arrested really should stir your red blooded, American—ah…blood?

Wow! Have you ever been to Alaska Josh? Sarah is a amazing woman. She has done wonderful things for our state. There IS “sex-ed” which Sarah Palin approved of in our schools. Why don’t you try and do some research before you come to judgement? try looking at “stats” that u r so fond of “inner city” How about Native Alaska? YES Trig is her son. What ridiculous accusations.
