Built by bar lovers,
for bar lovers.

We started with a simple idea: the best nights out shouldn't require a VIP table or a thick wallet. Great bars want great crowds. We make the introduction.

Connecting people to the places they'll love.

Shots on the House exists to close the gap between empty bar stools and people who want to fill them. We believe discovery should be rewarded — not paywalled. When a local bar runs a great Tuesday-night special, that news should reach the people who'd actually show up. When a member tries a new spot on our recommendation and becomes a regular, that's the loop working exactly as it should.

We are proud to be a 100% opt-in platform. Every person on our list chose to be there. Every email we send contains a clear, one-click unsubscribe. We never buy, rent, or trade email lists. This isn't just compliance policy — it's the foundation of why our emails actually get opened.

"The best bar in the city is the one you haven't found yet."

— The Shots on the House creed

Our values

🔒

Privacy First

Your data is yours. We collect only what we need to send you relevant deals and we never sell it to anyone.

Consent Always

Every subscriber opted in explicitly. No dark patterns, no pre-checked boxes for marketing, no purchased lists. Ever.

🌍

Community Focus

We prioritise locally owned bars and independent venues over chains. The goal is a stronger neighbourhood bar culture.

🔔

Relevant by Design

We only send alerts that match your city and your stated preferences. Your inbox isn't a dumping ground.

🤝

Fair to Partners

Venue partners set their own deals. We charge a flat partnership fee — not a commission that punishes success.

🍹

Responsible Fun

We promote drinking culture responsibly. All content is age-gated (21+), and we actively encourage safe transport home.

Two former hospitality industry insiders who saw the same problem from opposite sides of the bar.

Marcus T. Holloway

Co-Founder & CEO

Marcus spent eight years managing bars and nightclubs across New York City before founding Shots on the House in 2023. He built the platform after watching talented bar operators struggle to fill seats on slow nights despite offering genuinely great deals — deals that never reached the right people. A graduate of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration, Marcus brings deep operational knowledge and a genuine love for what a great local bar means to a neighbourhood.

Priya Nair

Co-Founder & CTO

Priya comes from a decade in email marketing and consumer data infrastructure, having led engineering teams at two fast-growing hospitality tech companies. She is the architect of Shots on the House's email delivery system — designed from the ground up for compliance, high deliverability, and genuine relevance. Priya is an outspoken advocate for ethical email marketing and has spoken at industry conferences on CAN-SPAM compliance and permission-based list building. She lives in Miami with her two cats and an unreasonable number of houseplants.

Responsible marketing & user privacy

At Shots on the House, we take our responsibility as an email sender seriously. The nightlife industry has a complicated history with aggressive marketing — we are building something different. Here is what that looks like in practice:

  • Double opt-in by design. Members must actively check an unchecked consent box during signup. There are no pre-ticked boxes, no implied consent, no buried opt-in language.
  • Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link. Opt-out requests are honoured within 10 business days, and unsubscribed addresses are immediately added to our suppression list.
  • We never purchase, rent, or trade email lists. Every person we contact chose to hear from us. This is non-negotiable and is audited quarterly.
  • Your data is never sold to third parties. We use trusted email service providers to send our emails, but we do not share your personal data for any purpose unrelated to delivering your deal alerts.
  • Transactional vs. marketing emails are clearly separated. Welcome emails, redemption codes, and account activity notifications are transactional. Deal alerts and promotions are marketing emails with a clear header identifying them as such.
